Sanaz Sohrabi

Sanaz Sohrabi is a Teheran-born artist-filmmaker and researcher of visual culture based in Montréal. Her work explores visual histories of resource sovereignty and postcolonial ecologies in the Global South, drawing on archival material, ephemera and overlooked histories. Her films and installations have been presented at festivals and institutions including Berlinale, IFFR, the Ljubljana Biennial and the Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal. Her debut documentary feature, An Incomplete Calendar (2026), premiered at Cinéma du Réel, where it received the Loridan-Ivens First Feature Award and the Young Jury Award.
