Mona Abdel-Fadil
Mona Abdel-Fadil is an Egyptian-Norwegian multidisciplinary academic and genre-bending comedy performer and writer, with expertise on diversity, cultural stereotypes & racism. Mona has a gift for fusing societal critique with comedy. In A Superiour Guide to Performing an Academic Self, published in ASAP (Johns Hopkins University Press, 2020), Mona highlights the racial, gender, and heteronormative biases of the academy, through a satirical lens. This piece has been adapted for the stage and performed in the US, Austria & Norway. Mona is one of the curators of the exhibit In/visible: Everyday Racism in Norway (2021-) and facilitates workshops for coping with racism through improvised comedy.
