DumTak

DJ DumTak is a Berlin-based artist weaving the rhythms of SWANA percussion into the grooves of house and electronic music.

Their sound sits at the intersection of club culture and ancestral memory: a celebration of percussion, storytelling, and diaspora. The name “DumTak,” pulled from the core strokes of the darbuka drum (“dum” and “tak”), speaks to their deep-rooted connection to rhythm as a form of ritual.

From Levantine melodies over Afro-house bass lines or blending deep house with North African percussion, DumTak creates dance floor journeys that are as grounded in heritage as they are open to the now.
