Mona Abdel-Fadil is a British-born Egyptian-Norwegian writer, academic, and performer. Mona dabbles in genre-bending types of artistic expression, but her true love is comedy. She performs comedy improv on a regular basis and writes for both tears and laughs. In 2020, ASAP (Johns Hopkins University Press) published her satirical essay, «A Superiour Guide to Performing An Academic Self». There she asks what it really takes to become a successful academic. Through a gallery of professors with enticing names such as Nicholas Nostalgie and Hara S. Mint Ford, we gain insight into how one best can cope with the increasing demands for gender equality and diversity in academia, and the world at large.
