Mira Adoumier (b. 1985, New York) is a researcher, filmmaker and visual artist. She grew up in exile in different cities, continents and languages. Through her exilic subjectivity and drawing on her academic background in philosophy, biology and psychology, her films explore landscapes at the intersection of centre and periphery, real and imagined, weaving the multiple relationships between image, text, voice and sound to provoke the eruption of the strange and fantastical in the everyday. She is also a member of The Camelia Committee – مجموعة في الكاميليا, a collective that explores the shifting relationships between image, text, voice and sound through writing, filmmaking and film programming.
