Jacob Høigilt is professor of modern Arabic culture and language at the University of Oslo. His research focuses on language, ideology, culture and society in the Arab Middle East and North Africa. His most recent book (co-authored with Kjetil Selvik) is Journalism in the Grey Zone: Pluralism and Media Capture in Lebanon and Tunisia (Edinburgh University Press, 2023).
