The Tiller of Waters (Ḥārith al-Miyāh) by Hoda Barakat

Date: Tuesday 4 May 2027
Time: 15:00–16:00
Place: OCEH Lab, 4th floor, P.A. Munchs hus, University of Oslo

This meeting of the Al-Ard Book Club invites participants to read and discuss The Tiller of Waters by the Lebanese author Hoda Barakat (1998).

In war-torn Beirut, a textile merchant reconstructs his life through fragments of memory, family history, and desire. Blending myth, migration, and urban ruin, Barakat creates a haunting portrait of a city and its inhabitants.

If you plan to attend, please RSVP to Teresa Pepe at teresa.pepe@ikos.uio.no.
